yes the ball will flatten out on the club. If you grab a club from a golf shop and they put impact tape on it, and you go the practice room. If you hit it squarely you will see a fat mark about the size of the ball imprinted on the tape.

I think the most amazing part of this video is how the ball actually loses its roundness upon impact. Its crazy considering how hard golf balls are. Science is cool
